Clark, Ellen and the kids are off to a Las Vegas vacation, paid for from Clark's bonus for inventing a food preservative. Las Vegas is chosen because it's "the family entertainment capital of the world." Cousin Eddie now lives out in the desert where they used to test H-bombs; they stop in for lunch. Ellen ends up getting tempted by Wayne Newton, Clark loses all their money, Rusty hits wins a car on the strip (and uses his fake ID bearing the name of Mr. Pappagiorgio) which sets him on a winning streak, and Audrey hangs out with her cousin Vickie, who works at a strip club but has the night off. When the family is together, they inadvertently nearly destroy Hoover Dam, get a bit too close with Siegfried and Roy's white tiger (back when they still had a show). And of course, we couldn't have a 'vacation' movie without the blonde in the Ferrari (only this time, she's got a baby in the back seat). Anyway, as a family, they go to play Keno to win enough money to get home, Clark chats with an old guy (who Clark tells can be part of their family out of pity), they lose but the old guy wins, then dies; they keep the ticket. Clark and Ellen end up in a crappy wedding chapel to renew the wedding vows, and Russ tells dad he won four cars; they drive home to Chicago. |
