Father Goose 1964 118 NR 3.0 out of 5 ducks
Walter sits around all day, until he's coerced into being a plane watcher to keep an eye on things during World War II by joining the Coast-Watching Service to keep an eye on enemy planes. He's nudged to take his dingy (a small boat, silly) to pickup another watcher on an island that may have been occupied by the enemy. But upon arrival, it turns out it's a school teacher, Catherine, and a group of seven school girls that he needs to take back in his 7-foot boat. They get on each others nerves for the better part of the film, but the enemy eventually figures out they're there. Elizabeth makes a pass at him (played by Stephanie Berrington, who now appears to be an attorney in Los Angeles in real life). Walter and Catherine apparently shift their disdain, and get married via radio (although the ceremony was interrupted by the Japanese shooting at the cottage). Post-wedding, a submarine is sent to rescue them just as Walter and company try fleeing in his damaged boat. The sub sinks the warship chasing Walter's boat, but not before the warship fires upon the ship, and they're rescued from the dingy. Moving film reel
