Keeping the Faith 2000 128 PG-13 3.0 out of 5 ducks
Best friends Father Brian and Rabbi Jake find they have something else in common -- they've both fallen in love with Anna, a childhood friend they also had in common. Bummer, though, neither one of them can hook up with her for religious reasons. (Priests can't date or have the hot lovin' due to the vow of celibacy, and rabbis dating non-Jews isn't encouraged.) Rabbi Jake is up for a head position at his synagogue, so the non-Jew-dating wouldn't be a good idea (and his mom disowned his brother for marrying a non-Jewish woman). Lots of this and that, but ultimately, Rabbi Jake decides he'll put it on the line for Anna, and gets her to not leave New York as she'd been planning. Anna and Rabbi Jake come to the karaoke place that Rabbi Jake and Father Brian set up together. Father Brian is still in love with Anna, but since he can't do much about it, is happy for Anna and Rabbi Jake. Rabbi Jake's family is delighted Anna has been taking classes in Judaism, and may help when it comes to Rabbi Jake getting the approval of his congregation regarding Anna's religious beliefs.
