| The story loosely follows the life of Mariah Carey, via character Billie Frank. Sent away by her alcoholic mom, she makes friends with some chicks (Louisa and Roxanne). Jump ahead and she (and friends) are found and hired on to sing backup for a group, but DJ Dice hears the girls and gets them to sing for him (and gets them out of their previous contract). She and DJ Dice record in the studio, and date outside of it. Dice and Billie break up, he's shot in the chest and killed, but the show must go on, and she still sings at a concert just minutes after hearing of his death. After the show, she returns to her dressing room to find a note from Dice (from beyond the grave?), telling her that her mom turned up living in a small farm town, clean and sober. Billie tracks down her mom in the town (arriving by limo, nice), and mom and daughter are reunited with a tearful hug. |
