30 years ago, the Zenith Program used kids/teens in a superhero program, but it fell apart after they dosed the kids with Gamma 13 radiation, turning Concussion to evil and killing three of the other heroes, leaving only Zoom alive (Concussion's real life brother). 30 years later, Army General Larraby learns Concussion is coming back, and reactivates Zoom (and recruits Zoom, now civilian Jack, to train them). Truly, he is using Jack as bait for his brother. Jack isn't keen on the job, but they pay him $500,000 for his work; he dreads facing the misfits with powers: Dylan (invisibility), Summer (moving objects), Tucker (enlarges parts of his body to gigantic sizes), and Cindy, 6 (incredible strength). The lab scientist Dr. Grant runs things, sort of, with lab girl Marsha eventually revealing super-strong breath to blow things around. Concussion comes for Zoom, once he's bonded with the kids, of course, the fight to the finish where Zoom rediscovers his fantastic speed, creating a vortex of good around Concussion, and reversing the effects of the Gamma 13. The General isn't happy, but is left in the dust as Zoom/Jack, Concussion (Connor by day), the kids, Marsha and Dr. Grant to form a new Zenith Program of do-gooders. Dylan and Summer make goo-goo eyes at one another as teenagers do... even superhero ones. |
