Ultraviolet 2006 88 PG-13 2.0 out of 5 ducks
In the future, the government finds a virus they try to engineer to, of course, create better soldiers, and, whadaya know, it gets out and infects a portion of the population, turning them into a pseudo-vampiric subgroup called Hemophages. Because society has also become deeply germa-phobic, they are hunted down and destroyed. In protest, the Hemophages fight back. One of them, Violet, manages to steal what she believes to be the latest bio-weapon to wipe out all the Hemophages (while kicking lots of butt and unloading many bullets in the process), only to discover it's really a little boy named Six (whose blood has been loaded with the latest bio-weapon to wipe out all the Hemophages). She figures if his blood can kill her, it must also contain the answer to curing her, for no other reason than to push the plot along. Violet works very, very hard at protecting Six from other Hemophages and Daxus, the uber-germaphobe head of the government/CDC agency, using really cool guns and swords she can (literally) pull out of her sleeves. Sadly, Six dies because of what's in his system, and his body is taken back by Daxus. Violet sort of dies, but is saved by her friend Garth, who has both a crush on her and is her point person when she decides to go get Six back, despite the fact he's dead. She fights her way into Daxus' lab just in time to keep him from hacking up Six's body to salvage the thing in his blood, which it turns out won't kill Hemophages but normal humans because (gasp!) Daxus is a Hemophage and this is was all part of his nefarious plot to keep himself in power. Violet fights Daxus and kills him awesomely, then revives Six, who had somehow been infected by Violet and is now a Hemophage. They drive into the sunset (and if this movie does well, which is doubtful, will return in a sequel). Moving film reel
