Jobe, the computer-enhanced genius of Lawnmower Man, is resuscitated by Jonathan, an evil sort of businessman. Jonathan wants Jobe to create a special computer chip that would connect all the computers in the world into one network, which Jonathan and his cronies can then use to control computers around the world for his own evil purposes. Jonathan doesn't really anticipate the predictable gang of technology-saavy teens who are aware of his plans and seek to stop Jonathan, but they need the help of scientist turned recluse, Dr. Ben (who lost his patent of his computer chip to the investors like Jonathan), to help them out. Cory is still working for Jonathan, but used to work with Dr. Ben. Dr. Ben and Cory and a kid or two steal the crystal computer chip, but Jonathan soon reveals he had the real one hidden (now that Jobe had solved the Egypt uplink problem they were having). Jonathan addresses a crowded auditorium to reveal the invention, which Jobe presents and activates, starting a 12-hour countdown to the global interface being activated. Things start getting weird, and we see Jobe is taking over the system, ignoring Jonathan and his threats. Jobe fakes a security alert, using a Jonathan image, and gets the guards to hunt Jonathan, Jennifer and a guard, shooting them. Dr. Ben, Jonathan, Jobe, Cory and the kids end up in the chamber, with Jobe getting knocked out of his chair, and Jonathan trying to steal back the crystal. Jonathan tries to shoot Dr. Ben, who grabs his arm, and Jonathan lands into some electrical stuff and fries. Jobe reverts back into the mentally challenged guy from the first film, and they all go home. |
