Ending
Sweden, long ago. Princesses Elsa and Anna are growing up in the kingdom of Arendelle. Elsa was born with the power/curse of being able to create ice and frozen wonders, which are more pronounced when she's upset or stressed. As children, an accident leaves Elsa inadvertently blasting Anna's head with ice; their parents rush to the trolls, whose leader cures the injury, and erases all Anna's memories of Elsa's powers. The king decides to reduce staff and keep a low profile until Elsa learns to control her powers. The king and queen go on a ship voyage and are lost at sea, leaving the girls as orphans. Elsa locks herself away from everyone -- even Anna -- and they're reunited three years later for Elsa's coronation; Elsa's gloves all but keep things mellow... but when Anna asks Elsa's blessing to marry Prince Hans (13th in line in his kingdom), Elsa is upset, and with her gloves off, inadvertently sets off an eternal winter... and flees, building an ice castle in the mountains. Anna is determined to fix things, and races after Elsa. Anna stops for a coat and supplies, meets Kristoff and Sven (Kristoff's reindeer), and bribes him as an escort up the mountain. Along the way, they meet Olaf, a snowman whom Anna vaguely recalls from childhood (one Elsa used to create before the accident). Anna tries to coerce Elsa to return, and tells her of the winter, but she sends her away, and she's again accidentally hit with ice (this time in the heart); a giant snowman chases them away. Hans and crew also proceed to the mountain to capture Elsa (hoping to end the winter in July). Kristoff takes Anna to his friends -- the same trolls -- who say only an act of true love can thaw the frozen heart. Thinking that's a kiss from Hans, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf rush back to Arendelle... only to find Hans tries to kill Anna by snuffing out the heat, revealing he wants to be king somewhere, and home won't happen. Hans leaves Anna alone (Olaf lights a fire for her), declares Elsa a traitor and announces himself as king -- lying that he and Anna were married before she died. Elsa is captured, but escapes from the castle, and Anna and Olaf rush outside to find Elsa and stop Hans. Meanwhile, Kristoff and Sven, who left and now are returning, race across the lake, also on the race of love. Hans finds and is about to strike Elsa with his sword, when Anna steps between them; Anna stops the sword with her hand, as she's just breathed her last breath and frozen into a statue. The gesture is the act of true love, and triggers the thaw. Elsa returns to the castle, Anna finally replaces Kristoff's destroyed sled and lets him know he's now Arendelle's official ice merchant, Hans is banished to home (not before Anna punches him overboard), and Olaf survives summer with a personal flurry cloud from Elsa. After the final credits roll, the snow monster guarding the castle puts in a final appearance and picks up Elsa's crown and puts it on. Moving film reel
