(Most characters don't have names.) She is an Irish-American scientist and married to Anthony in a loveless marriage. She begins an affair with He, a Lebanese surgeon exiled in London. Much of the film is told either through internal monologue of the actors (which we can hear, of course), and that of Cleaner, the housekeeper at She/Anthony's home, who expounds on being very good at cleaning, but that nothing is every completely clean -- there is dirt everywhere. The affair matures, deals with issues about their different backgrounds, politics and beliefs, and they end up splitting up after He is confronted by strong opposing beliefs at his night chef's job. He runs back to Beirut, but she wants him back and sends him a ticket to return. She goes on holiday, he eventually returns to be with her, and they seem to get back together. We close with Cleaner talking about how the number 0 is so absolute, how dirt is always there, and how there is no "no," only "yes." Moving film reel
